from "Burning Love," that I stole
Desire starts with a longing
To fulfill something we need
Then we add self-hypnosis
and pursue relentlessly
Desire is not just for love
To find a husband or wife
This burning quest within us
Drives everything in our life
Van Gogh had a desire to paint
Classical music was Beethoven's thing
Bruce Lee's desire was for karate
and Elvis's was to sing
Romeo's desire was Juliet
Adam's desire was Eve
Somewhere in everyone's heart
There's a desire in which to believe
All great athletes have it too
A burning desire so tall
that it drives them to championships
A desire to win above all
The burning desire of my early days
was to make the beach my shrine
To visit Hollywood and party down
like it's nineteen ninety-nine
My youth's desire was for the girls
and California has no limit
There's so many pretty girls
I'd love them all in a minute
Desires make us feel alive
Like a skydiver from a plane
Like a rock star on stage
An unstoppable train
Desire is not just for sex
it can be something else too
We build up this desire inside
by tossing it 'round for a few
It starts with a fascination

Desire is part of our life

until just recently
Burning desires defy the saying
"all things in moderation"
It's more like "Take it to the Limit"
or "Baby, Won't You Let Me"
We apply those intense feelings
To our inner and outermost thoughts
It makes our dreams more exciting
and gives our life more plot
So let your desires burn bright
Embrace them, give them light
It's an awakening of our spirit
and lets our dreams take flight
